Ken Kessler himself writes (May 6, 2000):

You dont know a [obscenity] thing especially to post data defameing something that works. You should B helping people not causing them to leave in spite of help for them. I’m going national with this [obscenity] — See if U and “THE BOYS” can stop it then!!!

U [obscenity] looser (Along with the rest!!!!!)

Dave Replies: Well, how nice to hear from Ken. I can only assume that Ken’s “something that works” refers to his own treatment, as he doesn’t specify. And I have no idea of what “data” Ken is speaking of.

I also have no idea what Ken means by “going national,” as he’s already got world-wide “coverage” through his web sites. Perhaps he’s thinking of doing an infomercial. Of course, the more publicity Ken gets, the more likely it is he’ll run afoul of the FDA and FTC, as Nystatin is not approved for use in the treatment of psoriasis. While “THE BOYS” may not be able to “stop it,” perhaps the government will.

I hope one day Ken will learn some anger management. I would gladly enter into a rational discussion of his treatment with him, but this email shows to me that it’s more important to him to insult people rather than trying to work towards an understanding on all sides.

Ken Kessler himself writes (April 28, 2001):

what a cute little web site jerk. you getting paid along with the other jerk????

you and the other jerk tell the woman who wanted to kill herself and could not get help from the medical community after she is now a complete woman after I helped her with her PSORIASIS.

NO ONE IN THERE RIGHT MIND WOULD RUN SOMEONE TO HELL FOR HELPING PEOPLE UNLESS THEY ARE GETTING PAID TO DO SO BY OTHER CONCERNS!!!!!

BUZZ OFF! PUT THIS ON YOUR LITTLE SITE MR. PROGRAMMER. SO AM I JERK, WELL HAVE INTERNET WARS IF YOU WANT!

Dave Replies: Yes, hearing from Ken just makes my day. Ken’s insinuations that I am getting paid to “run people to hell” are simply ludicrous in light of the fact that over the last two years, Ken has increased the price of his information packet from $15 to $149.95, a ten-fold increase. Ed Anderson will tell you the gist of Ken’s info for free. Oh, what the heck, I will, also.

I think it’s quite clear who is putting his income first over people’s health. After all, if Ken were truly interested in doing nothing more than helping people, he’d be giving his information away.

September, 2001, Update: This month, a person who had used Ken Kessler’s information (given by him for free) on her psoriasis emailed me to praise Kessler and say nasty things to me. After replying to her, I received an email from Kessler himself which prompted a short exchange of perhaps half-a-dozen emails, total. He also made references to things I’d written in my reply to the woman who wrote to me, so I can only assume that she forwarded my response to Kessler. He appeared to threaten me with a lawsuit. He also accused me of many things (for example, he says that I called him a ‘thief’), and refused to back any of them up with any sort of evidence. In the ten months since, he hasn’t written back to me to support any of his threats or accusations, so I assume they were baseless.

However, the abuse Kessler heaps on me when he does email me is tiring. The fact that my private reply to a third party wound up in his hands says something about his ethics. In light of these things, I will only very reluctantly reply to, or publish, any email from or about Ken Kessler from now on.

November 18, 2002, Update: Kessler is amazing. As I wrote above, he failed to substantiate any of the charges he’d leveled at me for ten months. He sent me an email today, however. In this email, he replied to an email I sent him over two-and-a-half years ago. To be precise, he replied to the last sentence (and only the last sentence) of the email I sent him on May 6, 2000, which is reproduced above.

In today’s email (all caps, which is par for the course), Kessler calls me a fool, implies that I don’t even qualify as a human being to him and accuses me again of being paid by the drug companies to “put something down.”

That last part is what is truly amazing. After re-reading my own review, I don’t see where I say his method won’t work, or that it isn’t worth a try. What I do say is that his information isn’t worth $150, which is, of course, a big difference. I also say that his “answers” to the NPF’s FAQ appear to me to be paranoid delusions, which has nothing to do with whether or not his method works for psoriasis.

Ken Kessler himself writes (February 2, 2004):

I AM GOING TO SUE U
“MOTHER [obscenity]”
IF U DO NOT CLEAR YOUR [obscenity] ABOUT ME OFF THE WEB!!!
PSORIASIS CAN B FIXED
U [obscenity], I GOT THE PROOF!

NOW, GET IT THE [obscenity] OFF
OR U WILL HEAR FROM MY ATTORNEY — GOT IT [obscenity]!!!
KESSLER!!!

Dave Replies (February 3, 2004): Mr. Kessler,

It will save us all a lot of time and energy if you would simply send me your lawyer’s name and phone number.

Thanks.
